Blog: Why We Choose To Build Our Projects With React JS

Rigo Guadron / March 27, 2023

What do the super-popular websites Facebook, BBC, Netflix, Salesforce, Paypal, Flipboard, Apple, Tesla, and Dropbox have in common?

Well, they are user-friendly, fast loading, and all have engaging interfaces.

But what is working in the back that allows these websites to load fast and provide such a frictionless experience?

The answer is that all these brands have built their websites with React JS.

And guess what? We built ours using the same technology, and we can build yours too.

But first…

What is React JS?

React is a JavaScript library for building user interfaces. React is known for its versatility, performance, and ease of use.

Last year we decided to explore this option for our website. Previously we had a WordPress website, but it was important for us to have a secure, unbreakable website that is responsive and userfriendly.

You must be thinking, but so many websites are still built on WordPress, so is it still a good choice?

Well, it really depends on your goals. If your goal is to stay ahead of the competition, perhaps exploring other options would be beneficial.

We thought about it long and hard, and after running a few WordPress websites, we found that we could offer our clients a better version of their digital assets. We sat down and compiled the following list.

6 Shortcomings of WordPress

  1. Lack of customization options: WordPress has limitations in terms of customization and may not be suitable for complex projects with specific requirements.
  2. Performance issues: WordPress can be slow and prone to security vulnerabilities, which can negatively impact website performance.
  3. Maintenance challenges: WordPress requires regular updates and maintenance, which can be time-consuming and costly.
  4. Lack of scalability: WordPress may not be able to handle high traffic or growing business needs.
  5. Alternative technology preference: We wanted to use a different content management system or framework that better suits the evolution of our development process.
  6. Security: Because WordPress is so popular, it is a common target for hackers. While there are steps that you can take to secure your WordPress site, it is important to be aware of the potential risks.

After looking at our list, we realized that, ultimately, we want to offer a world-class experience, and our digital projects need to reflect our talent.

Our projects were evolving into complex web applications with specific requirements for customization, scalability, and real-time data processing. We found that the WordPress plugins weren’t cutting it.

We ultimately realized that WordPress would not be a good fit. After all, almost anyone can build a WordPress website, so why would you hire an agency?

What are some features that make ReactJS the Best Choice for Organizations?

Faster Development

React developers can utilize individual components of an application on both client-side and server-side, facilitating fast development. In essence, ReactJS enables multiple developers to work on different parts of a web application without interfering with the web application's logic.

Flexibility and Cost-saving

React has a modular structure, making it easier to maintain compared to other front-end frameworks. It is a versatile framework that significantly reduces project time and business expenses.

Creating Apps That Are Fast and Efficient

React JS features a virtual DOM program and server-side rendering responsible for a web application’s fast performance; simultaneously, it enables complex apps to work faster and more efficiently.

SEO Friendly

The server-side rendering of React components can provide search engines with the necessary content to crawl and index. In addition, React’s virtual DOM allows for efficient updates and rendering, improving website performance and loading speed, which is a factor in SEO ranking. Another great advantage is that React can be optimized with various packages to dynamically update the header and meta tags on a per-page basis.

Security

ReactJS applications can be built with security in mind from the ground up, with best practices and modern security measures incorporated into the code. They can also be audited and tested for security issues, and developers can fix vulnerabilities quickly.

5 Examples Where React is Better for Web Development

Labotorio Clinico GS Built with ReactJS

  1. E-commerce sites with high traffic and large product catalogs.
  2. Financial or healthcare applications with strict security and data privacy requirements.
  3. Complex data-driven web applications with real-time data processing and analytics.
  4. Virtual and augmented reality experiences with high-end graphics and 3D rendering requirements.
  5. Mobile and cross-platform applications that require native performance and features.

In such cases, a more specialized framework like React is a better fit to handle the specific technical and performance requirements of the projects.
